Shortly after joining the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator as a co-work member, I was asked to design concepts for a sponsorship wall. I researched different organizations and played with ideas. I spoke to sign companies and invited them to come look at the location selected for the sponsorship wall, and give me their feedback.
The building is modern and industrial feeling. I wanted the sponsorship wall to fit within the space, but not blend in so well that it got lost. I proposed using a geometric shape that was different from the architectural elements, while allowing for sponsorship plaques to be added to a grouping without looking disorganized.
I created a photographic mockup, then worked with the staff to select different metallic backgrounds for each sponsor level. I collaborated with local sign vendors to create samples and mounting suggestions.
Now the sponsorship wall is backed by a repeatable process with defined templates and backgrounds, a removeable mounting method that allows for rearranging plaques as more are added, and reliable production partners.
